in an attempt to re-create the pizzas he grew up eating, east coast transplant joe d'amore established this local chain of restaurants in 1972. Today, well-heeled diners scarf down casual italian classics such as baked ziti, eggplant parmigiana and signature thin-crust pizzas. Pies are sculpted with cornmeal dough, olive oil and "special" water shipped in from massachusetts. Popular orders include the tomato sauce-free pizza bianco, grilled vegetable pizza and the substantial meat lover's special.
